Charest ("Chip") Thibaut, III was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on July 11, 1949.

Educational Background
In 1967, Chip enrolled in the Arts and Science
honors course at Louisiana State University. He
subsequently enrolled in LSU Law School and
graduated in 1972 at the age of 22, obtained
his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts
degree and Juris Doctorate law degree all within
five years, making him one of the youngest
graduates of the LSU Law School.

Professional
Upon graduating from LSU Law School in 1972, Chip
stepped into a very busy general practice and,
within two years, was selected as assistant general
counsel for one of the largest insurance
companies at the time in North America. After
litigating for several years on the defense side of
the bar, he began concentrating on representing
injury victims and has limited his practice in the
past approximately 20 years to prosecuting these claims.

Qualifications/Certifications

Martindale-Hubbell:
Chip has obtained an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell,
the highest possible under the Martindale-Hubbell system of rating and
evaluating attorneys throughout the country. This system is based on
confidential evaluations from attorneys and judges who practice in the
applicant's vicinity. Only a small percentage of the attorneys practicing in this
country attain this level of certification.

American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA)
: This exclusive national
organization for trial attorneys membership is by invitation only and dedicated
to the preservation of the civil jury trial. Of the approximately one million
attorneys in the United States, only about 4000 are members of ABOTA.

American Inns of Court:
This "invitation only" organization's purpose is to
elevate the legal profession professionally and ethically. The Inns have
adopted a traditional English model of legal apprenticeship, and through its
"pupilage groups" encourage a "mentor" system where the more experienced
attorneys lend assistance to the younger members. Chip is a designated
"Master" member of the Dean Henry George McMahon American Inns of Court.

National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA):
Chip has been board certified by the
National Board of Trial Advocacy as a "civil trial advocate." This process, by
application only, requires that the applicant successfully complete an extensive
written examination in civil trial practice and ethics. It is not enough for an
applicant to have a successful trial record, he must obtain that record using
only the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct-as viewed by the
judges before whom he has practiced and the attorneys against whom he has
tried cases. Only approximately 2,200 attorneys nationwide have been board
certified by the NBTA in Civil Trial Advocacy.

The Association of Trial Lawyers of America:
This national group is limited, by
charter, to participants who have substantially limited their practice to
representing injured persons. In addition, an extensive "networking" system
enables these trial attorneys from across the nation to consult with and assist
each other.

Louisiana Trial Lawyer's Association:
To a large extent, the Louisiana Trial
Lawyer's Association is the state version of the Association of Trial Lawyers of
America. The membership is similarly limited to those whose practice involves
representing injury victims and an extensive networking system allows for
attorneys across the state to pool their knowledge and experience to best serve
their individual clients. Chip is a member of both the Auto Tort and the Medical
Malpractice sections of the Louisiana Trial Lawyer's Association and is a past
member of the Board of Governors.
